Nirvana - John Peel Session 1989

Have I mentioned my love for Nirvana? No? I love Nirvana! OK good, got that out of the way. Most people have never heard Kurt's radio performances, and it a shame - really. Great songs, minimum dick 'n around with it behind the desk. Nice raw sound, almost live in your room - you know what you want to hear.

Here's the info as I have it: The band were fortunate enough to land a slot on the acclaimed John Peel Show, and recorded a session for broadcast. The first broadcast was on broadcast November 22nd 1989. Producer, Dale Griffin remembers, ‘The first NIRVANA session was very relaxed. Kurt played and sang live. He looked young and fresh-faced.’ ‘The band was well rehearsed - all too often not the case with many bands, especially on the John Peel sessions - and we were soon into mixing the songs.’

Band members: Kurt Cobain (vocals, guitar), Krist Novoselic (bass), & Chad Channing (drums)

Producer: Dale Griffin
Engineer: Ted de Bono

01 About A Girl
02 Love Buzz
03 Polly
