Frank Black - Hang On To Your Ego [Single]

"Hang On To Your Ego" is a song written by Brian Wilson of the Beach Boys. The song was originally intended to be released on their classic 1966 album Pet Sounds. However, at the last second, the track was pulled due to the other band members not being comfortable with it's references to LSD. Frank Black's cover was released as the second single from his 1992 album, Frank Black.


The single is backed by with two non-album tracks, "Surf Epic" and "Ballad Of Johnny Horton". "Surf Epic" would later be shortened, reworked and ultimately released as the title track on Frank Black and The Catholic's 2000 album, Dog In The Sand.
